Prague

Wayne Franklin Fridrich, a lifelong resident of Prague, Oklahoma, entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2026, in Prague, at the age of 78. He was born on September 20, 1947, in Prague, Oklahoma, the son of Carl Ernest and Mary Jane (Pernicka) Fridrich.

Wayne grew up in Prague and was a proud 1965 graduate of Prague High School. He began working at Kahanek’s Grocery as a teenager and later at Harvey Carver’s Service Station, beginning a lifelong pattern of hard work and dedication. Following graduation, Wayne went on to build a long and respected career with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, where he worked for approximately 30 years before retiring in 1997. After retirement, he continued working for ANA Engineering, remaining active and engaged in the profession he valued.

On March 18, 1966, Wayne married Deanna Sue Warden. Together, they made their home in Prague, where they raised their three children and built a life rooted in family, friendship, and community.

Wayne enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or spending time at the lake. He was also an avid golfer and a devoted sports fan, especially when it came to football. Above all else, Wayne cherished his family. He was a constant presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren, faithfully attending their games, activities, and events, offering quiet support and encouragement every step of the way.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Luella Fridrich; his granddaughter, Lindley Elizabeth Whitt; and his brothers-in-law, Chris Warden and Joe Remington.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Deanna Sue Fridrich of the home; his son, Aaron Fridrich and his wife, Genise; his daughters, Kristin Nichole Rohling and Sarah Whitt and her husband, Rob; five grandchildren, Kyle Fridrich and his wife, Heather, Kelsie Terry and her husband, Christian, Lindsey Ellis and her husband, Nathan, Preston Fridrich and his wife, Amelia, and Vance Whitt; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Sawyer, Finley, Tevitt, Otto, Sutton, Freddie, and Lochlan on the way; his siblings, Carl ‘Butch’ Fridrich and his wife, Ann, and Cindy Fridrich Ruelens and her husband, Michel; along with a host of other family members and many friends.
