Theressa Mae Ledbetter, of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Theressa was born on April 26, 1934 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Eddus “ED” and Lela Mae (Burge) Carter. Theressa grew up in Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. Theressa married Jim Ledbetter at Bethal Church of Choctaw and the couple were happily married for 27 years. The couple made their home in Meeker.
Theressa had a huge heart. She loved big and spread that love to her husband Jim, their children and their grandchildren. She especially loved to spoil her beloved dog, Sampson. Theressa enjoyed crochet and was an excellent cook. She was a skilled pianist and was always down to go shopping. Theressa was a dedicated member of the Bethel Church of Choctaw for many years. She had a generous spirit and loved sharing with others and will be greatly missed by many.
Theressa was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lela Carter, her son, Michael Eddus Culp; her sister, Evelyn Gatewood and her first husband, Bill Culp.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of more than 27 years, Jim Ledbetter; her son, Mark Steven Culp and his wife, Sondra; her daughter, Cynthia Ruth Culp; two stepsons, Jim Ledbetter Jr. and Donald Ledbetter; one stepdaughter, Betty Dawn Reyes; fourteen grandchildren, Katina Smith, Amber Seay, Tiffany Brown, Krista Liles, Steven Culp, Jason Culp, Roman Wilkinson, Amanda Streda, Cecilia Streda, Heather Huff, Levi Ledbetter, Ashley Reynolds, Derek Ledbetter, Alexis Ledbetter; two sisters, LaVern Zalmanzig and Carmen Winner and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
