Shirley Jeanne Teegarden

Shriley Jeanne Teegarden passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. 

Shirley was born on Thursday, October 11, 1945 to Dale and Opal Barton in Cushing, OK. She attended and graduated Cushing High School in 1963. After high school, she married Benny Teegarden and out of that marriage had one son, whom she loved dearly, Shannon Teegarden. She worked as a bank teller for a few years and then went on to help Benny in his business at Venture Drilling. She was a member of Cushing Church of Christ. Shirley was always a social butterfly, she loved visiting with friends and being with family. She also enjoyed shopping. But one of Shirley’s biggest loves was dancing. She really enjoyed all forms of dance. Shirley loved jitterbugging with her husband Benny and she loved to tap, jazz or ballet. She performed in Festival of the Park in Cushing at 50 year old and loved every minute of it. Shirley was so kind and thought the best of everyone and always put others first, her bubbly personality will be missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Benny Teegarden; and her parents Dale and Opal Barton. 

Shirley is survived by her son Shannan Teegarden; grandchildren Kasey Goodwin, Josey Teegarden, and Benny Teegarden; sister Sondra Sneed; best friend since 3rd grade Janie Sylvester; she is also survived by many extended family and friends. 

A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at noon at Stroud United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Please RSVP by calling the funeral home by March 20, 2025.
