Ronald "Ronnie" Dee Moore

Ronald “Ronnie” Dee Moore, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the age of 76.


Ronnie was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on October 30, 1946, to Otho Lee and Betty Jean (Sexton) Moore. He attended school in Chandler, graduating from Chandler High School in 1964. After high school, he attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.


Ronnie married Betty Place in 1966 in Chandler, Oklahoma. He later married Dorothy (McFarland) Glisson in 1976, in Bristow, Oklahoma.


Ronnie made his career by serving our country in the Army National Guard as a Supply Sergeant. He was a member of the 45th Oklahoma National Guard in Chandler with the last 20 years as active duty in OKARNG. He retired in 2001 after 37 years of service. Ronnie also worked at Allied Materials in Stroud for many years and for Chandler Public Schools after his retirement. He was a past president of the Chandler Alumni Association and a past member of the Chandler City Council.


When Ronnie wasn’t working or serving his community, he enjoyed attending all sporting events and was the best “armchair quarterback” you could ever meet. He was a very passionate Chandler Lion Fan.


Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Betty Moore; son-in-law, Chris Ray; and great-nephew, Lukas Moore.


He is survived by two daughters, Dee Moore of Bethany, Ok., and Lori Moore Ray of Yukon, Ok.; his brother, and sister-in-law, Carl and Nan Moore of Tulsa, Ok.; grandchildren, Morgan Moore, Matt Moore, Chaylee Ray, Jesse Ray, Madison Glisson, Rocky Glisson, Jaycee Glisson, and Avery Glisson; great-granddaughters, Kalani Martinez who lovingly called him “Pepperoni” and Olivia Glisson; great-grandson, Mason Glisson; ex-wife, Dorothy (McFarland) Moore; stepdaughter, Nikki Glisson; stepson, Mitch Glisson; nephews, Grant Moore, and Jay Moore; bonus sons, Mike Goodman, and Pat Brown; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
