Pat L. Cook

Patsy “Pat” L. Cook, of Prague, passed away in Oklahoma City on August 11, 2024 at the age of 83. Pat was born on October 1, 1940 in Chandler, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Rex and Opal (Waller) Farmer. Pat grew up in Prague and attended Prague Public Schools. She was a 1958 graduate of Prague High School. Upon graduating from high school, Pat, went to beauty school, where she became a beautician and cosmetologist. She used her skills and expertise to impact the lives of the residents at the nursing homes in both Prague and Meeker. She always felt it was important to make sure those ladies looked and felt their best. She operated her own hair salon (Pat’s Hair Design) for 50 yrs. In Prague. Many ladies in the area were repeat customers.


Pat married Jvon Cook on June 6, 1959 and the two were happily married until his death on June 10, 2020. Together they were married for more than 61 years. The couple had three children. Pat was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Prague. She taught many young children in Sunday School. She was also passionate about her ladies in the Red Hat Society. She was always out and about and never sat at home. She enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They affectionately referred to her as MoMo. She was known for her delicious Red Velvet Cake, that many have tried to duplicate but have failed. Pat’s favorite time of the year was Christmas time. She enjoyed decorating her home with numerous trees and went out of her way to make the holiday season special for the kids. Pat was a beloved wife, mother, MoMo and friend and will be missed by many.


Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Jvon L. Cook; her parents, Rex and Opal Farmer; her brother, Coy Farmer and her sister, Mary Vincent.


Those left to cherish her memory are: her three children, Jvon Ray Cook and his husband Leon Burkitt, Janon Gosnell and Chase Cook and his wife, Jennifer; her grandchildren, Chelsea Knoch and her husband Taylor, Brittany Gosnell, Crystal Cook, Lilly Cook, C.J. Cook, Jolene Cook and Colt Cook; her great-grandchildren; Dylan Gosnell, Brooklynn Gosnell, Madelyn Knoch, Slaydon Knoch, Brendyn Poullard; her brother, Troy Farmer; her sister, Joy Marler and many loving friends and family.
