Nova Herrmann

September 15, 1930 — March 2, 2022

Edna Nova Herrmann, age 91, went to be with her Lord on March 2, 2022, surrounded by family at her home in Chandler, Oklahoma. Nova was born September 15, 1930, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Henry Franklin and Edna (Kitching) Butler. Nova and her family always lived around Lincoln County. After moving to Agra at a young age, she was a 1948 graduate of Agra High School. She then met Julius Herrmann of Chandler, Oklahoma, and were married August 26, 1950. They remained married until his passing on May 4, 1992. Together, they owned a grocery store in Shamrock, Oklahoma, for a short while. After moving back to the Chandler area, Nova decided she wanted to stay home and take care of their four children while also helping Julius with the farm. Nova loved to do anything that involved creativity. She enjoyed crafting, painting, decorating elaborate cakes, and gardening. She was very talented at anything she tried. Nova was also one that loved to make sure everyone was taken care of. If you came to her home, she was going to offer you something to eat, especially a bowl of ice cream, no matter what she was doing. She attended Agra First Baptist Church as a child, then joined Julius at the Church of the Firstborn during their marriage, and then attended Chandler First Baptist Church in her final years. Nova was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Julius; parents Franklin and Edna Butler; son-in-law Randy Lowery; and five brothers and sisters. Survivors include son Arthur Herrmann and wife Janet; daughter Lavon Lowery; daughter Carol Roark and husband Paul; son Darrell Herrmann and wife Brittney; sister Marquetta Chastain; sister Suzan Scarbrough grandchildren Michael Hamby, Scott Herrmann, Julie Alsip, Carolyn Holman, Brittany Roark, Lance Roark, Claire Herrmann, Will Herrmann, and Brady Herrmann; 13 great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Geraldine Butler, Roselle Herrmann, and Lenora Herrmann; brothers-in-law Arnold Herrmann and Bill Worthy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Agra with Pastor Rick Blackwell officiating with burial to follow at Parkland Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
