Michael Steven Trammell was born on June 14, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Albert and Patricia (McKosato) Trammell. He passed away on November 19, 2025, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. Michael was a proud member of the Fox Clan of the Sac and Fox Nation
Michael attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after which he made his home in New York City where he spent most of his adult life. He worked as a theatre lighting technician. He loved being part of the creative energy of the city and took great pride in his work behind the scenes.
Michael enjoyed learning about and working with computers during the early years of the blossoming technology. In 2020, he returned to Oklahoma where he spent the final years of his life closer to family and home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Charles McKosato and Winona Exendine-McKosato; his sister, Marceline Trammell-Jones; and his brother, Stanley Trammell.
Michael is survived by his brother, Frederick Trammell; his sister, Marilyn Drobenaire; and a host of extended family members and friends who will hold his memory close.
A traditional tribal wake service will be held on Friday evening at 5 pm, and a burial service will be held Saturday morning at 9 am, at the McKosato family home, with burial to follow at the McKosato family cemetery.
