Marion E. Shankles

Marion E. Shankles was born on January 6, 1946, in Tahoka, Texas, and departed this life on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at her home in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 62. Marion, the daughter of Joel Gorden and Verma Louise Weemes Carey, was a resident of Prague. She married Raymond Shankles on September 23, 1974, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Marion was a waitress at LaDonna''s and of the Baptist faith. Her parents; two sisters, Claudene Allen and Dot Palmer; and two brothers, Bro Jim Bob Carey and John Dick Carey, preceded Marion in death. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Shankles of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Raynette and Keith Barker of Clovis, New Mexico; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gorden and Barbara Carey of Lubbock, TX, Joel and Penny Carey of Arlington, TX; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and JR Woods of Paden, Ann Bell Long of Garland, TX, Ginger Phillips of Post, TX. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
