John Darwin Terry, Jr., was born August 9, 1949, in Stroud, Oklahoma, to John, Sr. and Bernice Terry. He passed away January 6, 2022, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 72. Johnny owned his own oilfield supply company. Following graduation from Stroud High School with the class of 1967, he attended Oklahoma State University then proudly joined the U. S. Army for two years. Johnny had a personality bigger than life. His friendships were lifelong relationships. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was especially proud of the bowling ring he received for bowling a 300 game. His family was the most important aspect of his life, and he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his wife, children, and granddaughter. John is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Megan and husband Darren; son, John III (Trip); and granddaughter, Madison Terry, all of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by his brother Jeff Burton and wife Kathy, Santa Rosa, California; sisters Cathy Terry and Barbara Harvey, Stroud; Bette Mount and husband Randy, Tulsa; and Mary Montague, Sand Springs, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Stroud. Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 4-6 p.m. at Park Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.parksbrothers.net.
