Joan Kaye Gilman passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Joan was born on Saturday, November 29, 1952 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to James Prather Sr and Betty (Smith) Prather Autry. She graduated from Classen High School in 1971. She married Donald Ray Gilman on August 28, 1971. After she graduated and got married Joan worked at Stroud Nursing Home for years then went on to be a surgery tech at Stroud Hospital, as well as helping on the ambulance service. After that she worked in Guthrie and several other hospitals as well. Joan loved to help people. Joan treasured her memories with family, especially her grandchildren. Joan’s kindness and loving nature will be greatly missed. 

Joan was preceded in death by her mother Betty Autry; her father James Prather Sr; and her step-mom Madeline Prather. 

Joan is survived by her husband of 53 years Don Gilman; her daughter RayLynn Norman and husband Daniel; her brother James Prather Jr and wife Bridget; her sister Janet Johnston and husband David; her grandchildren Cherokee Clark and husband Andrew, Cheyenne Lewis and Kaitlynn Norman; great grandchildren Gaviston and Grayson Clark and Rainee Lewis; she is also survived by extended family and friends.
