Imogene “Jean” (Geeslin) Capley, 93, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at her home, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jean was born on Saturday, July 14, 1928, in Kellerman, Alabama, to Gather and Emma (Pate) Burchfield. She grew up in in Northport, Alabama, and where she met her husband, Edward D. Geeslin, marrying him on December 30, 1946. Together they had one son, Brock. In 1970, Jean and Edward bought property and built a house in Tryon, Oklahoma. They resided in Tryon until Edward passed away in 1988, and then she sold the property in the early 1990s. Jean moved back to Alabama for a time, eventually ending back in Oklahoma to be near family. She was also known as “Gran” by her grandchildren, and those who loved her. Jean was a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith. She was a bowler for several years and enjoyed playing cards. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Gather and Emma Burchfield; husband, Edward D. Geeslin; her brother, Marvin Burchfield; a sister, Joyce Byrd; and her 2nd husband, Thomas Capley. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Brock Geeslin & Mike Rone; brother, Carl Burchfield and his wife, Katie; grandchildren, Shane Geeslin and his wife, Tracy, and Brian Geeslin; great-grandchildren, Joseph Geeslin, Sarah Geeslin, Hannah Geeslin, Kristin Geeslin, Cassie Geeslin, Zach Geeslin, and Annabelle Geeslin; great-great grandchild, Ash Geeslin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
