Jayne Meier

Jayne Meier, born in Foraker, OK, on July 15, 1912, to Jasper and Louise Drew Inda, died December 31, 2004, in Shawnee, OK. She attended St. Mary?s Catholic School in Guthrie, OK, and St. Benedict School in Shawnee, OK. She married Charles Meier on May 21, 1941, in Prague, OK. Jayne worked for 35 years as a caregiver in the medical field: a volunteer for Hospice of Shawnee, Shawnee Regional Hospital and Prague Hospital Auxiliaries, and the American Red Cross. Her husband; two stepsons, Javon and Carl Meier; sister, Helen McCarthy; brother, Louis Inda; and two nephews preceded Jayne in death. Survivors include stepson, Ralph Meier of Woodward, OK; sister, Josephine Sampson of Shawnee, OK; several step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the National Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague or Hospice of Shawnee.
