Helen Louise Wiley

Helen Louise (Witt) Wiley, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Helen was born in Oakland, California, on Saturday, July 9, 1938, to George Louis and Hazel Bell (Pettit) Witt. She grew up in Castro Valley, California, graduating from Hayward High School on June 2, 1955. On June 18, 1955, Helen married Dewey A. Wiley in Reno, Nevada, and together they raised two children. After spending most of their lives in California, Helen and Dewey made Lawton their home for the last 13 years. Dewey preceded her in death on June 8, 2021. Helen worked at Montgomery Ward in Oakland, Ca. for several years. She was, first and foremost, a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She liked to make clothes, especially for her daughter’s special events. In her downtime, she enjoyed watching tv. Her favorite tv show was “The Incredible Dr. Pol”. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dewey A. Wiley; her parents, George and Hazel Witt; her brother, Robert L. Witt; and two sisters, Loretta J. Garcia, and Edna M. Spoon. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Ohlenmacher; her son, Dan Wiley; her sister, Jeanette Burnette and her brother-in-law, Frenchie Burnette of Gallena, Louisiana; grandchildren, Derek Wiley, Morgan McDonald and husband, Brad, Daphne Choquette and husband, Chris, Stefanie Baker and husband Justin, and Wesley Ohlenmacher; great-grandchildren, Trey Wiley, Jasmine Baker, Briahnna Baker, Justin Baker Jr., Leslie Baker, Daemun Saucedo, Jonathan Choquette, Zoe Talamentez, Jaydn Ohlenmacher, and Catalina Ohlenmacher; great-great grandchildren, Micah Bauer, and Roland Bauer; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
