Harry Leon Howk of Meeker, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the age of 73. Harry was born on July 23, 1949 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. He was the son of Henry T.J. and Pauline Jean (Moore) Howk. Harry attended Hoffman Schools, Henryetta Schools and was a 1967 graduate of Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. After high school, Harry proudly served his country by joining the United States Navy. He served for two years during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed on board a ship off the mainland coast of Vietnam.
After his service, Harry went to work as a mechanic. He could work on and fix anything with wheels. He worked with gas and diesel engines, he was also handy when working on tractors. Harry also served as preacher for a few years.
Harry married Judith Kay Thacker on March 23, 1987 and the couple were happily married for 35 years. They originally made their home in the Okemah area, before spending the last 10 years in Meeker.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judith Kay Howk; one daughter, Carolyn Christine Misaracas and one stepdaughter, Cindy Carlile and her husband, Ross and host of family and friends.
