David Lee Sitton

May 25, 1955 — January 10, 2022

David Lee “Dave” Sitton was born on May 25, 1955, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Bearl and Goldie (Helm) Sitton. Dave departed this life on January 10, 2022, at the age of 66. Dave grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma, on a dairy farm, where he learned the value of hard work from an early age. Dave attended Chandler Schools and graduated from Chandler High School in 1973. In high school, Dave participated in football, track, and Future Farmers of America. He also won an expert driving award, which would inspire his later career. It was during high school that Dave met the love of his life, Katharine Ann Parrott. Dave and Ann were married February 9, 1973, and made their home in the Chandler area. In his early career, Dave followed his dad’s footsteps, becoming a dairy farmer. Eventually, Dave gained his CDL and began working as a distributor for a number of businesses including Borden’s, Rainbow Bread, Pepsi Cola, and Budweiser. Over time, Dave was able to open his own private dairy distribution business, which he operated for many years and allowed him the freedom to pursue his favorite pastime, golf. In later years, Dave became a car-hauler, delivering cars all over the U.S. Golf was one of Dave’s great passions. Those who golfed with Dave were always impressed not only with his skill at the game but also his quick wit and humor throughout the game. Dave loved a good wager, especially when he won. For a short time, Dave even found a way to join his love of the game of golf to a career, becoming the Chandler Municipal Golf Pro. Dave also loved visiting the casino, where he often found success. The grandkids innocently referred to the casino as “Papa’s office” when they were little. Dave’s absolute greatest pride was in his children and grandchildren. Dave found tremendous joy in spending time watching his grandchildren play ball, wrestle, run track, and dance. Time with family was the thing Dave valued the most. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Bearl and Goldie Sitton, his brother Mike Sitton and his wife Jane, his in-laws Roger and Anna Fay Parrott, and his nephew Mickey Sitton. Dave is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Ann; daughter Julie (Sitton) Puls and husband Steve Puls of Cushing; daughter Robin (Sitton) Crouch and husband Jason Crouch of Chandler; daughter Heather (Sitton) Dietz and husband Clint Dietz of Chandler; 6 grandchildren, Hunter Puls, Tatum Crouch, Landon Dietz, Keaton Dietz, Chloe Crouch, and Saylor Dietz; sister Linda Douglas and husband Jim Douglas of Chandler; sister Janet Gregg and husband Mike Gregg of Chandler; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. A funeral will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10 A.M. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler with an interment following at Oak Park Cemetery. Donations honoring Dave can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or Diabetes Solutions.
