Blanche Martin, age 86, of Harrah, OK, was born February 12, 1931, in McCurtain, OK. She was the daughter of Ed and Clara (Leflore) Tolbert. She left this life on Thursday, July 27 in Shawnee, OK. Blanche was a member of First Baptist Church of Newalla. She received her GED and worked as a substitute teacher in Harrah schools. She was a mail carrier and also worked at Western Electric. Following the birth of her son Roger, she became a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed flowers. Blanche was a dedicated Christian lady and was very involved in the activities of her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Tolbert and Daniel Leon Tolbert; two sisters, Jean Blaylock and Thelma Dean Fout; and son, Roger, in 1994. Survivors include her husband, Jack Martin of Harrah, OK, a niece, Billie Chambers of Diamond Bar, CA, and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Newalla, Newalla, OK, followed by interment at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Officiating the ceremony will be Pastor David Nolen and Dr. Griff Henderson. A guest book is available to share your memories online. Services are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
