Beverly Sue Maddox

June 14, 1937 — October 29, 2021

Beverly Sue Maddox, 84, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, in Oklahoma City surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was born on June 14, 1937, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Dodge Walker and Winnie Bell (Williams) Moses. She was raised in Prague, Oklahoma, attending Prague schools and graduating from Prague High School in 1955. While in high school, Beverly served as the school’s baton twirler and in FFA. On June 18, 1955, Beverly married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Maddox in Prague. Together they moved to Oklahoma City until 1973, before settling back in Prague where they started building their home, finishing it in 1975, and raising their three children. Beverly was very active and visible in the community. She worked at the 99’er Restaurant in Prague for over 20 years as a waitress. She also served as a Girl Scout leader for her daughter and in her beloved social club, the “Red Czech Divas”, and as a “Queen Mum Red Hatter”. Beverly was also a very devoted and long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Paden where she served in the Church’s clothes closet ministry as well as any other ministry where needed. Beverly will mostly be remembered for being a very loving and protective mother and grandmother who was very active in her kids and grandkids sports and extracurricular activities. She loved to cook and bake and was willing to cook for anyone or everybody. She made sure that holidays were spent at her home, where she was surrounded by her family, and could cater to their individual food requests and make sure everyone was well fed and taken care of. Beverly will be dearly missed by all. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Kenneth Maddox; her parents, Dodge and Winnie Moses; her daughter, Kimberly Cowley; her son, Keith Maddox; brothers, Merle Moses, Rayborn Moses, and Walter Moses; a sister, Wanda Crow; and her best friend, Bobbie Shelton.
