Bertha Beck

Bertha Beck, formally Bernadine Sidor, Chandler Oklahoma, resident, was born on November 23, 1919, in Cernova, Slovakia, formally Czechoslovakia, and departed this life in Chandler, Oklahoma, on January 22, 2005, at the age of 85 years. Bertha was the daughter of Michael and Irene Janos Sidor. She came to the United States at the age of 9. Bertha grew up in Michigan, became a citizen, graduated from business college, and served honorably in the Woman?s Army Corps during WWII achieving the rank of Master Sergeant with postings at the Pentagon, Philippines, and China. Following military service she lived in El Monte, California an had a career as secretary to the Vice President of the Trust Department at Security Pacific Bank later Bank of America for 35 years. She moved to Chandler, Oklahoma in 1997. Her parents preceded Bertha in death. Survivors include: One son & daughter-in-law: Perry E. Beck, Jr. & Laura Simon Beck of Granite Bay, California; Two sisters: Margaret Stevens of Sterling Heights, MI; Gertrude Borkowski of Sterling Heights, MI; Grandchildren: Perry E. Beck III & Michelle Renet Beck of California; Step-grandchildren: Edward Still of Chandler, OK; Vicki Prechtl of California; Seven great- grandchildren; Four nieces, Gayle, Christine, Donna and Nancy
