Margarette E. "Marge" Brooks

Margarette 'Marge' E. Brooks was born on September 8, 1924, in Chandler, Oklahoma and departed this life on Friday, January 7, 2011, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. Marge, the daughter of Ralph Edward and Elizabeth Josephine (Guessman) Mehan, was a long-time resident of Chandler. She married Alfred Franklin Brooks on November 29, 1947, in Chandler. Marge was a homemaker and long time member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler. She graduated from St. Mary High School in California and was a honorary graduate of Chandler High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Womack of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brenda & Joe Wolfe of Edmond, Oklahoma, Marfreda & Mike Christy of Chandler, Oklahoma. Three sisters, Anna Oakley, Bess Ballard and Theresa Mehan of of California, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church building fund at 415 S. Price, Chandler, Oklahoma 74834.
