Lora Virgie Verburg

Lora Vergie Verburg, long-time Meeker, OK, resident was born on July 18, 1915, in Meeker, OK, and departed this life Saturday, January 28, 2012, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 96 years. Lora was the daughter of Jesse C. and Mattie (Gallaway) James. She married C.J. Verburg on October 18, 1947. Lora was a homemaker and member of the Mammoth Baptist Church. Her parents, husband, one brother and five sisters preceded Lora in death. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lora was living with Cheryl and Anthony Griggs in Sparks, OK. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Mammoth Baptist Church in Meeker, OK, with Rev. Keith Cole, Rev. Michael Melton, and Rev Mike Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
