Edward Joseph Brzozowski, age 87, of Harrah, OK, was born March 18, 1930, at the family homestead in Harrah. He passed from this life on October 26, 2017, at his home. Ed was the son of Walter and Anna Brzozowski and was a lifelong resident of Harrah. He was a farmer and his yearly garden provided produce for his entire family and many friends and acquaintances in the Harrah-Newalla area. He was also an avid fisherman and wine maker. Ed and Grace May Scheidt were married in Morrilton, Ark. on Oct. 2, 1951 and celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary earlier this month. Ed joined the U. S. Navy his senior year at Harrah High School but came back and graduated at Harrah and then served honorably in the U. S. Navy for four years during the Korean conflict. He was a Civil Service employee at Tinker Air Force Base for 22 years and retired in 1976. He was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Harrah Board of Education from 1970-74 and was instrumental in getting the pool for Harrah schools so every child could have an opportunity to learn to swim. He was a very involved sports fan and fully supported his children and especially the grandchildren. He was also supportive of any club or organization in which his grandkids were involved. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Henry, Tony, Richard, and John; three sisters, Sister Imelda Brzozowski, Maggie Scherer and Louise Brouse. Survivors include his wife, Gracie, of the home; one daughter, Cindy Garrett of Yukon,two sons, Jerome and wife Mary, and Jeff and wife Tracy, all of Harrah; nine grandchildren, Paul Brzozowski, Michael Brzozowski, Emily Treadwell, Anna Timberlake, Ben Brzozowski, Grace L. Brzozowski, Alison Brzozowski, Chad Garrett and Eric Bishop; nine great-grandchildren, Lily Timberlake, Henry Brzozowski, Elliot Brzozowski, Martin Brzozowski, Camila Brzozowski, Landon Treadwell, Eleanor Treadwell, Kat-lyn Torres and Raena Bishop; and one great-great grandchild, Martin Torres. Rosary will be held at 6:40 p.m. with a Wake at 7:00 on Monday, Oct. 30 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah and burial in St. Teresa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Teresa's Youth Group in Ed's honor.
