Coy Price

Coy Price was born in rural Ozark County, MO, on November 18, 1915, and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK, on March 11, 2006. He was 90 years of age. Coy, the son of William Harvey and Nancy Eve Upton Price, moved with his family at an early age to Lincoln County where they farmed. Coy worked for Lincoln County and the WPA. He was instrumental in blasting the rock used to build the Armory in Chandler, OK. He married the love of his life, Marie Holman, on March 10, 1942. During World War II, Coy served in the United States Army, 1st Medical Squadron, 5th Cavalry Reg., 1st Cavalry Division. He saw action in New Guinea, Bismark Archipelago, and the Phillipines. Upon his return from World War II, he owned a caf and worked in a foundry before beginning a career with Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. He retired from ONG following 26 years of service. His parents, his wife of 52 years, two brothers, three sisters, and one grandson preceded Coy in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Sharon Price of Mustang, Donald and Donna Price of Tuttle; brother, Ray Price of Tulsa; sisters, Belle Castoe of Marlow, Betty Quinn of Prague; 8 grandchildren, Debbie Estes of San Dimas, CA, David Price of Upland, CA, Donald Price of Mustang, Priscilla Price of Mustang, Brenda Battles of Moore, Coy Price of Oklahoma City, Michele Cummings of Edmond, Todd Henderson of Newton, KS; 8 great-grandchildren, Amanda Estes, Chelsea Miller, Ashley Price, Morgan Price, Madison Price, Landon Battles, Adara Price, and Brittany Henderson.
