Aurora Flowers was born on September 7, 1920, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, August 6, 2011, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Aurora, the daughter of Jesse Newton and Ollie Mae (Cook) Woody, was a resident of Meeker. She married Hubert Flowers in 1939. He preceded Aurora in death in 1965. She retired from Tinker AFB where she was a packing supervisor and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Her parents; son, Larry, five brothers, and two sisters also preceded Aurora in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Debbie Flowers of Meeker; daughter-in-love, Helen Flowers Gibson of Moore; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The Flowers family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker with Pastor Bryan Pain officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Meeker.
