In Loving Memory of our Mother 

Vera Louisa (Eaton) Dukes

May 16, 1930 to April 27, 2026

Vera Louisa (Eaton) Dukes was born May 16, 1930 at home in Paden, Oklahoma to Etta Mae (Davis) Eaton and Marion Braxton Eaton. Vera lived 95 years 11 months and 11 days. Vera was raised on the family farm in Paden, Oklahoma with a family of 11 children. She worked alongside her siblings on the family farm and as a waitress in Prague for a time. As a young girl she was always willing to lend a helping hand babysitting and caring for others. She went to school with Leonard Dukes, the love of her life, and at the age of 17 they married on June 14, 1947 in the preacher’s home in Paden. They lived in Prague, Oklahoma and had their four daughters during that time. They moved to Tulsa in December 1954 where she earned her cosmetology degree. They moved back to Prague where she owned and worked in her beauty shop for approximately 20 years. They attended and were very active members of the Prague Church of Christ. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage for 63 years. Vera and Leonard were blessed with their 4 daughters, 6 son-in-laws and 85 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Vera is also survived by brother-in-law LeDoy Dukes and sister-in-law Sandra Sue Dukes.

Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband Jessie Leonard Dukes, 1 son-in-law Johnny Ray Dean, 1 grandson Travis Wayne Snyder, 1 great grandson Joshua Ray Dean, both parents, 5 brothers and 5 sister-in-laws, 5 sisters and 6 brother-in-laws.

Pallbearers her 11 grandsons: Curtis Snyder, Jeffrey Dean, Brandon Garcia, Roger Lyon, Jason Dean, Justin Snyder.
