Treva Ann
Rickner
February 23, 1945 – March 17, 2026
Treva Ann Rickner, 81, a longtime resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Treva was born on February 23, 1945, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Elmo and Virginia (LaFollette) Hesser. She was raised in nearby Glencoe, on her parents’ dairy farm, where she always talked about getting home from school and hopping on her horse Rachel to help her dad get the cows to the barn. Treva graduated from Morrison High School in 1963 and later attended a banking and business school in Oklahoma City.
On August 10, 1965, Treva was united in marriage to Jerry Randall Rickner at her parent’s home in Stillwater. In 1985, the couple moved to Chandler, where they made their home and built a life together. Jerry preceded her in death on September 12, 2025, following 60 wonderful years of marriage.
After dedicating her early years to caring for her home and family, Treva began a long working career that ended at Oklahoma State University where she worked for various departments. She proudly ended her 30 year service at OSU in the graduate college where she retired at the age of 65. Treva had a strong work ethic and a love for staying busy. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and could often be found riding around on the gator and bottle-feeding the baby calves at the dairy. She was known for her kind and generous heart, infectious smile, contagious laugh, joyful spirit, and captivating story telling. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, a smile, or a laugh to anyone in need.
Above all, Treva cherished her family. She and Jerry especially enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s activities and supporting them in all they did. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in those she loved.
Treva was also a faithful and longtime member of the First Christian Church in Chandler, where she found great joy in honoring the Lord through her piano playing and singing.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Virginia Hesser; her husband, Jerry Randall Rickner; and an infant son, Roger Rickner.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Rickner and wife Krista, and Kevin Rickner and wife Debra; grandchildren, Nathan Rickner and wife Amrita, Mason Rickner and wife Caitlin, Charity Dempsey and husband Brawley, Cobie Yates and husband Ashton, and Blake Rickner and wife Brooklyn; great-grandchildren, Mila, Sylvie and Colter Rickner, Walker and Della Jayne Dempsey, soon-to-be great-grandson Shepard, and soon-to-be great-grandchild Baby Rickner; her brother, Rick Hesser and wife Loye; as well as a host of other family members and dear friends.
