Sharon Kay Poodry, age 83, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on July 10, 1942, in Concho, Oklahoma, to Helena Brady Grass and John Grass Sr.

In her late teenage years, Sharon moved with her family to California, where she helped care for her loved ones as one of twelve siblings. She built a strong work ethic and later enjoyed a long career as an assembler with QuickSet/Black & Decker, from which she retired. Even after retirement, Sharon’s heart remained devoted to caring for her family. Around twelve years ago, she moved to Nevada to live with her daughter Renee, where she continued to be a steady and loving presence.

Sharon was a proud member of the Sac and Fox Tribe. She found joy and peace in beadwork, attending Pow Wows, and celebrating her Native heritage. Known for her fun spirit, ornery wit, and scrappy determination, Sharon loved her family fiercely and without hesitation. Her strength, humor, and devotion will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helena and John Grass Sr.; her sisters Patricia Grass, Carmen Grass, Shalah Grass, Mary Abney, Gloria Grass, and Latricia Switch; and her brothers Gary Grass and Sam Grass.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Renee Poodry Steele and Jenelle Poodry; her brothers, John Grass Jr., Jeffery Grass, and Richard Grass; her grandchildren, Skush Poodry, Kyle Steele, Jenae Steele, Heather Montero, Bobby Hornacek, Stacie Berry, and Zachary Jellsey; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members who will continue to honor her memory.

Her family takes comfort in knowing her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she cherished most.
