Rita Delane Hibdon, 83, passed away on Friday morning, May 15, 2026, in Stroud, Oklahoma.

Rita was born on April 18, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to William Elmer and Lucile Mae (Files) Danner. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. On May 2, 1961, Rita married the love of her life, Virgil L. Hibdon, in Oklahoma City. Together, they recently celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage.

Forty years ago, Rita and Virgil made their home on 80 acres in Stroud, where they built a life centered around the simple joys of country living. She lovingly cared for their animals and found great happiness in gardening. Rita will be remembered for her kind heart and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Hibdon; and her brother, Butch.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Hibdon; sister, Diane Block; and grandchildren, Dylan Hibdon, and Stephanie Hibdon; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
