Karla Cannon-Matthews passed away on January 27, 2026 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born on February 8, 1943 in Shawnee, to Jack and Thelma Cannon. She had two sisters, Betty Black and Caroline Nowlin, one brother, Bob Cannon. She served her country for 21 years, with the United States Army National Guard, stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. Karla was smart, kind, funny and beautiful. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Karla was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Matthews, her daughter, Kathy Arnold, her stepdaughter, Nikki States; her stepson, Bobby Matthews; her sisters, Betty Black and Caroline Nowlin; her brother and Bob Cannon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeff Rosamond; her grandson, Shaun Rosamond and granddaughter, Krystal Lowther and host of family and friends.
