Donna Williams Wallace was born to Harold and Jo Williams on September 5, 1943, in Oakland, California. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where she was raised and eventually graduated from Hobbs High School.
At the age of 14, Donna placed her faith in Jesus Christ at Castle Avenue Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico. It was there that she came to understand that Jesus was the only way to heaven, that His death paid the price for her sin, and that His resurrection provided the way to eternal life. Donna placed her trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and because of her faith, her family and friends can have the assurance that she is now home in heaven with her Savior.
Donna’s greatest joys in life were her children, her family, and singing. She dearly loved her children and was intentional about investing in their lives. Whether spending time together, talking, or simply sharing everyday moments, Donna treasured the time she had with them and the relationships they built.
Singing was one of Donna’s greatest passions throughout her life, from her childhood through her years as a mother and even into her final days. She loved playing the piano, picking out notes and harmonies, and teaching her children to sing. Music was more than a hobby to Donna; it was a special way she expressed her love and created lasting memories with those closest to her. In her latter days, Donna mentioned that she struggled to sing and looked forward to singing again in heaven.
On August 3, 1981, Donna married Charley Wallace, beginning a partnership filled with many cherished memories. Together, they enjoyed traveling and took several trips around the country. They also treasured their Saturday morning breakfast gatherings with friends, enjoying the fellowship and simple pleasures of time spent together.
Christmas was one of Donna’s favorite times of the year. She loved bringing her family together to celebrate, but perhaps nothing brought her greater joy than giving gifts. Donna had a generous heart and gave freely, sometimes even to a fault. For her, it was never about the size of the gift or finding the perfect present. It was about giving, sharing, and making sure everyone felt remembered and loved. She always wanted to be certain that everyone had something to open on Christmas morning.
She found great joy in serving others, especially through preparing meals for family gatherings. No matter how she was feeling, she always made sure her family was welcomed with a home-cooked meal whenever they came to visit. Her love was expressed through every dish she prepared, and she always made certain there was more than enough for everyone. Her kitchen was a place of love, generosity, and togetherness, reflecting her caring heart and the deep love she had for her family.
On October 18, 2026, Donna went home to be with her Savior from her home in Stroud, Oklahoma. Though her family and friends grieve her passing, they find comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and the assurance that she is now in His presence.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jo Williams, and her grandson, Benjamin Krueger.
She is survived by her husband, Charley Wallace, of the home; her children, Kimberley Krueger and her husband, Greg, of Sherman, Texas; Dana James and her husband, Rodney, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Julie Woods and her husband, Walter, of Yukon, Oklahoma; and Lance Garrison and his wife, Susan, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by her stepchildren, Randy Wallace and his wife, Lora, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Joseph Wallace and his wife, Tressa, of Noble, Oklahoma; and Beatrice Smith of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her brother, David Williams; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous other family members; and a host of dear friends.
Donna will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her beautiful gift of music, her generous spirit, and the faith that guided her life. The songs she sang, the gifts she gave, the food she prepared, the Dr. Pepper she drank, the memories she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Though her family will miss her dearly, they rejoice in knowing that Donna is home with her Savior. Her life leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, generosity, and the enduring hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
