Donald Eugene Derrick, longtime Stroud resident, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on December 19, 1941, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to Jack and Christine Derrick.
Donald graduated from Prague High School and later met the love of his life, Sandra Lee. The couple were united in marriage on June 15, 1966, and together built a wonderful life and home in the Stroud area.
Don dedicated 36 years of his career as a pilot for Trans World Airlines, a profession he truly loved. He also proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard and was active in the Masonic Lodge. Don was a faithful member of Saint Bede’s Episcopal Church. He also had a great passion for animals
Don enjoyed traveling, golfing, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and the love he had for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Christine Derrick, and by his beloved wife, Sandra Lee Derrick.
Don is survived by his daughters, Debbie Derrick of Stroud, Suzy Lucenta of Tulsa, and Jamie Derrick of Stroud; his grandson, Jackson Hollman of Oklahoma City; his sister, Judy McKinney of Okemah; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
