Darryl Lynn Fisher (Butch)
Darryl left this world Friday, September 4, 2026, in St. Louis, Oklahoma at deer camp. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on April 29, 1954, to John Quincy (Jake) and Treba Mae (Williams) Fisher. He attended school in Meeker and graduated from high school in 1972. After school, Darryl enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1972 to 1976 at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma, until his medical discharge in February 1976.
Darryl met Belinda Gail Opela in 1980. They married on June 9, 1981, and recently celebrated 45 years together.
His career included work at Lincoln County District 3 in Meeker, Barton Valve, TDK/Allen Bradley, Darryl's Auto Clinic, Pratt's in Tecumseh, Farm Fresh in Chandler, Jerry Tilley Trucking, S&S Salvage, and most recently Shawnee Medical Center Clinic where he retired in 2010. Wherever he worked, he didn’t just make coworkers, he made friends. Many of those friendships lasted a lifetime and were something he truly valued.
Darryl was a skilled mechanic who rebuilt vehicle motors for many family members and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and especially enjoyed preparing his hunting and fishing harvests for family gatherings. His favorite holiday was July 4th because he loved blowing things up and he was really good at it. He took much pride in being a good provider and he excelled at every job he held. Those who knew him remember a man who knew a little about everything.
Darryl is survived by his wife Belinda; daughters Heather and husband Sky Hitchcock , Brandi and husband Jason LaPlante; granddaughters AbbieGail and Maegan James; and grandsons Weston and Colyn LaPlante; brother Larry Fisher and sister-in-law Debbie Fisher; father-in-law, George Opela; sister-in-law Karen Clark and husband Ernest Clark; brother-in-law Jody Opela and sister-in-law Robin Opela; also many loving nieces, nephews, lots of extended family, and his beloved second family the French’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents Treba & Jake Fisher, siblings Johnny Fisher, Nancy Edmonds and Sandy Pack and his mother-in-law Jean Opela.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 11, 2026, at Parks Brother's Funeral Service Chapel in Prague, Oklahoma.
