Danny Lee Winchester, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 75. He was born on June 5, 1950, to Robert Lee and Carolyn (Chisholm) Winchester.

Danny grew up in Prague and was a proud 1968 graduate of Prague High School. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy in 1968, serving honorably until 1972.

On April 4, 1975, he married the love of his life, Debbie. They shared 50 years of devoted love and marriage. Together they raised and cherished two sons, Darin & Derek. His faith and family were the foundation of his life. He was a proud and loving husband, father, and grandfather. In his spare time, he enjoyed going on road trip adventures with Debbie and watching their three grandsons, Rhett, Jase and Cole, participating all the activities they enjoy.

Danny was blessed with a long and successful 43-year career in the banking industry. He started at Stroud National Bank before moving to Prague National Bank, later Vision Bank, where he served as a respected loan officer and eventually rose to the position of President. Even after his retirement in 2017, Danny’s leadership and influence continued through his service on the Vision Bank Advisory Board for several years.

Danny was deeply devoted to the Prague community and firmly believed in giving back through his steadfast support of civic organizations and local initiatives. He was an active member of the Prague Lions Club, serving in many capacities, including President. He was also dedicated to the Prague Chamber of Commerce, where he served as President and was honored as Citizen of the Year in recognition of his contributions to the community.

He was a proud and active member of the American Legion, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service. Though his impact was far-reaching, Danny preferred to work quietly behind the scenes, offering guidance and support while allowing others to receive the recognition.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Slay, and sister Terri Black.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Debbie Winchester; two sons, Darin Winchester and his wife, Miranda, and Derek Winchester and his wife, Jennifer; three grandsons, Rhett Winchester, Jase Winchester, and Cole Winchester; two brothers, Tom Winchester and his wife, Debbie, and Larry Bankston and one sister Mary Kay Tims; along with many extended family members, friends, and a grateful community.
