Dale Leon Hooker, Sr. of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 94.
Dale was born on December 29, 1931, in Bradford, Arkansas, to James Harley Hooker and Ester (Medlock) Hooker. Tragically, his mother passed away shortly after his birth. Throughout his childhood, his grandmother, Martha Rosetta Hooker, lovingly stepped into the role of mother, providing the care, guidance, and unwavering love that shaped the man he would become.
Raised in Arkansas, Dale developed a remarkable work ethic at an early age that remained with him throughout his life. He made his career as a truck driver, traveling highways across the United States and seeing much of the country. His work eventually brought him to Oklahoma, where he and his beloved wife, Raberta "Bobbie" Hooker, established their home on a farm near Meeker nearly 40 years ago. Dale continued driving professionally until the age of 75, a testament to his dedication and determination.
Even after retiring from trucking, Dale never slowed down. He was happiest when he was working outdoors, tending to his large gardens, caring for the farm, or finding another project to keep his hands busy. Sitting still simply was not in his nature. His hardworking spirit, generous heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a treasured neighbor and loyal friend to many. Dale welcomed everyone with kindness and genuine hospitality, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Above all, Dale cherished his family. Just two months before his passing, he mourned the loss of his beloved wife, Bobbie, who preceded him in death on April 28, 2026. Their life together was built on years of love, hard work, and devotion to one another.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Raberta "Bobbie" Hooker; his father, James Harley Hooker; his mother, Ester Hooker; his grandmother, Martha Rosetta Hooker; his stepmother, Venus Hooker; his daughter, Barbara Dale Caudoe; his brother, Bill Hooker; his sisters, Joy Dean Hooker Howton and Betty Lou Shafer; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Gail Hooker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Dale Hooker, Jr. and wife, Beverly; his daughters, Branda Jean Pennington, Joy Dean Bard, Ruth Ann, and Kelly Lynn; his brothers, Jay Hooker and wife, Cindy, and Stanley Hooker; his sisters, Wanda Gail Crews and Rosie Lee Howton; his sister-in-law, Audra Fay Hooker; his niece, Janice Toll; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Dale's legacy is one of perseverance, humility, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He lived a life defined by honest work, open hands, and a caring heart. His memory will continue to live on in the lives he touched, the family he loved, and the countless friendships he cultivated throughout his 94 years.
