Billy Edward
Shetley
Mar 20, 1950 — Aug 16, 2026
Billy Edward Shetley was born on March 20, 1950, to William Shetley and Patricia (Randolph) Smith. He grew up in Jay, Oklahoma.
Billy proudly served in the United States Army from 1970 until 1979. During his military career, he worked as a military policeman and was stationed in Korea, Leavenworth, Kansas, Germany, and Fort Knox, Kentucky. Following his military service, Billy spent most of his professional career working as a security guard at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. During this time is when he met his wife Sharon, the love of his life. Upon his retirement from the VA hospital, Billy continued working in security with Loomis Armored, Will Rogers World Airport and Tri Corps.
On May 21, 2005, Billy married Sharon Shetley. Billy was a simple, quiet, and calm-natured man, and his peaceful disposition paired well with Sharon’s feisty one. They shared nearly 19 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on February 9, 2024.
Billy loved motorcycles—much to Sharon’s dismay—and enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns. He was a talented carpenter who could build or repair almost anything. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, going to the lake, and fishing. He also loved his dogs, Rags and JoJo.
Above all, Billy treasured time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pops.”
Billy passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Shetley, and his parents, William Shetley and Patricia (Smith) Randolph.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Mary Cline; three daughters, Leslie Shupert of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Deana Stewart and husband Ronnie of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Kim Nash of Prague, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Tyaustin Shetley, Braden Shetley, Seth Gross, Haylee Gross, Colton Stewart, Lane Stewart, and Austin Nash; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Shinn, Tuff Blasingame, Raellen Gilpin, Letty Stewart, Adleigh Gross, Lindy Stewart, and Stormeigh Gross; as well as many extended family members and friends.
