Obituary

Anther Marie Miller, 71, of Stroud, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her devoted husband of nearly 49 years, Ron, by her side.

Anther was born October 17, 1955, in Tulsa to Don and Lois (Wade) Leverett. She grew up in the Kellyville and Bristow area and graduated from Kellyville High School in 1973. Bright and capable, she built a varied résumé in her early years, working as an optometry technician for Dr. George Foster and at Liberty Glass in Sapulpa, the Bristow News, Barbizon Modeling School (both modeling and teaching), and the Cushing Chamber of Commerce.

On November 18, 1977, she married Ron Miller at First Baptist Church in Bristow. The couple made their home in Stroud, and beginning in 1978 Anther was a partner in the family business, Miller Brothers, where her sharp head for business served them well for decades. She became a cherished part of the Stroud community and served as a Deaconess at First Christian Church.

Anther had a gift for making things grow and making things beautiful. Her green thumb was legendary, and she loved antiquing and decorating, often dreaming of opening her own antique or design shop. Those who knew her have no doubt it would have thrived. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner, and she treasured trips to Florida and Las Vegas with Ron and the family. She loved dancing at any opportunity all her life and particularly enjoyed Rod Stewart!

But nothing brought Anther more joy than her family. She loved being a wife, mother, sister, and aunt, and above all she loved being “RiRi” to her grandchildren. Time with them was her greatest delight.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; son Tye Miller and wife April; daughter Shanahan Ramos and husband Paul; grandchildren Laci, Aiden, Ryder, and Abby Miller; sister Katie Penn and husband Larry; brother Terry Leverett and wife Belva; sister Lisa Faulkner; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. We also want to recognize the constant love and support she received from her Aunt Joyce. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Lois Leverett.
