Harry L. Townsend was born on December 18, 1925, in Hennessey, OK, and departed this life on Friday, June 4, 2010, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 84.

Harry, the son of Walt and Rosa (Patrick) Townsend, was a long-time resident of Carney. He married Alta Mae Cronister on May 24, 1948 in Bentonville, AR. Harry owned and operated City Glass Company at 4116 N. May Ave., OKC, OK and farmed for many years in Lincoln County. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Carney

His parents, wife, two brothers, and two sisters preceded Harry in death. Survivors include, two sons & daughters-in-law, Terry & Mary Townsend of Carney, OK, Bobby & Dean Ann Townsend of Carney, OK, one daughter & son-in-law, Judy & John Mangrum of Oklahoma City, OK, one sister, Rosetta Miller of Pierce Ciy, MO, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 2:00 P.M., at the First Assembly of God Church in Carney, Oklahoma, with Rev. Bo Gibbs and Rev. Darrell Loudan officiating. Interment will follow at Carney Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
