Virgie Opaline Ford, Harrah, OK, age 83, was born on December 8, 1926, in Coalgate, OK. She was the daughter of James White Palmer & Willie Kate (Hinman) Palmer. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in Harrah, OK.

Opal married Elgie C. Ford on March 24, 1944, in Coalgate, OK. She was a member of the Harrah Nazarene Church and the Gospel Land Singers Quartet. She loved to garden and paint, but most of all enjoyed being with her family.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Elgie C. Ford of the home; 4 daughters & sons-in-law, Carolyn Sue & Bobby Capps, Corsicana, TX, Penny Caril & Greg Dzuik, Tenten, WA, Theresa Evelyn Brewer, Cave Springs, AR, Lisa Opal, Harrah, OK; 2 brothers, Jack Palmer, Ada, OK, Ray Lesley, Des Moines, WA; 3 sisters, Mickie Lehr, Newalla, OK, Willie Lanoy, Ninnekah, OK, Thelma Lesley, Florida; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and special friends.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Harrah Nazarene Church, Harrah, OK, with Pastor Larry Stone and Rev. Hubert Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Ferrell Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
